Built on nearly two decades of law enforcement and K9 handling experience, FoxK9 was founded by Derrick "Dj" Fox in 2021. FoxK9 provides training services to support dog owners across Regina, White City, Emerald Park, Balgonie, and Pilot Butte in their ability to communicate effectively with their dogs. At FoxK9, we aim to help you bridge the gap between you and your dog, transforming behaviour and building a relationship that lasts, no matter how far off it may feel right now. Derrick "Dj" Fox
Founder & Trainer
Dj founded FoxK9 in 2021 after nearly after two decades working in a role as a professional canine handler / trainer for a law enforcement organization.
That experience taught him something most pet owners never get exposed to: how to read a dog, build drive, and communicate with precision under pressure. Now he brings that same foundation home, helping families build relationships with their dogs that are built on trust. He continues to work alongside law enforcement teams but his real passion is closing the gap between what professional canine handling has taught him and what every dog owner deserves to know about their own dog.
Kara brings a rare perspective to dog training. Years running her own business taught her professionalism, accountability, and how to deliver results, skills that carry straight into her work with dogs.
She's relentless about mastery, continually learning from respected professionals in the industry, and actively works with rescue groups. Her philosophy mirrors ours: train the dog in front of you, communicate clearly, and build behaviour through a balanced, science based approach that produces lasting results.
Kara specializes in closing the communication gap between owners and their dogs. With her leading our pet training program, clients get thoughtful coaching and results that speak for themselves.
